Steve has spent most of his career as a Chief Legal Officer or General Counsel in start-up, emerging, and high-growth B2C, B2B, and SaaS companies with a broad range of private equity, venture capital, asset management, and family office investors. Through this diverse experience, he understands the importance of balancing and managing risk while maintaining an agile and entrepreneurial culture.
In 2004, Steve helped lead Arrow Financial Services, a large privately-held consumer debt purchaser, through acquisition by publicly-held SLM Corporation (Sallie Mae), later serving as General Counsel of Sallie Mae’s Asset Performance Group division. In 2011, he was part of the founding team at Javlin Capital, a specialty finance commercial lender. Steve served on the Advisory Board of Attunely Inc., an innovative cloud-based machine learning technology platform designed to increase revenue recovery and optimize yield in the financial services and fintech industries, then joined the company as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer in 2018. As a thought leader, Steve has served as both a board director and steering committee member of several consumer financial services and technology industry associations.
In addition to managing the firm, Steve focuses on general corporate work and employment-related legal matters.
Steve is admitted as an attorney in the District of Columbia.
