Chris recently served for ten years as the gubernatorially-appointed Monmouth County Prosecutor (NJ), where he supervised the daily operations of nearly 300 prosecutors, detectives, and administrative staff.  As the chief law enforcement officer for the county, he also oversaw a $25 million budget and 48 police departments that collectively employ more than 2,500 law enforcement officers.  In this position, Chris also spearheaded mass response incidents ranging from disaster relief efforts post-Hurricane Sandy to leading the fight against the ongoing opioid epidemic.

Before becoming the Monmouth County Prosecutor, Chris served for ten years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in both the Districts of New Jersey and Maryland, where he personally handled hundreds of criminal investigations and prosecutions while working in the Special Prosecution (public corruption) Division, the Terrorism Unit, and general Criminal Division.  As a federal prosecutor, Chris handled cases involving securities fraud, extortion, and bribery; mail, bank, and wire fraud cases; money laundering and narcotics; Patriot Act/material support of terrorism; Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and export control violations; financial and tax crimes; and various gang-related violent crimes.  Chris continues to serve as a combat-deployed Captain (SEL 0-6) in the U.S. Navy, where he has handled thousands of investigations and prosecutions as a judge advocate and completed tours as the Executive Officer (XO) of the NR National Security Law Unit (Pentagon) and the NR Naval War College Law Unit (Newport RI).

Chris has completed overseas combat deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq with SEAL Team EIGHT and various Army special forces units.  Chris has also participated in several training and exercise missions to countries in Europe, South America, Africa, and the Middle East, working with foreign government and military officials on various legal issues involving international/operational law, counterterrorism, security and stability operations, transnational crimes, and criminal justice.
